Right side colonnade

If we return to our view of the Ethiopian Court, slightly behind and to the right of Taharqa's Column, lies the Temple of Ramses III. The temple is typical of architecture from the Ramesside period. The pylon is flanked by statues of Pharaoh and leads into a porticoed courtyard lined with Osiris pillars depicting Pharaoh in the form of the God of the Dead.

The vestibule at the far end of the courtyard opens into the temple's hypostyle atrium with three chapels dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Unfortunately, we cannot see this portion of the temple, as entrance into this hallowed place is restricted to the High Priest and, of course, Pharaoh. So, since we can't view the hypostyle hall here, let's return to the Ethiopian Court and move on to the Great Hypostyle Hall.
